Thanks to significant advances in the study of Argentine terroirs, we are now in a far better position to understand and communicate the diversity and countless different styles that Argentine Wine has to offer.

The extremely varied geography, great natural bounty, purity of snow-melt water and the influence of the Andes mountain range all contribute to the exceptional and unique conditions present in Argentina. In recent years, producers have been broadening the horizons of Argentine Wine, expanding to the south and the east in an effort to seek out the cooler climates of Patagonia and the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, all the while cherishing local identity.

SUSTAINABILITY

The natural environment of Argentina is propitious for sustainable winemaking practices, and these are enhanced by a three-fold commitment on the part of the industry.

Awareness of the need to protect and care for the natural environment and local communities naturally leads to the conception and implementation of relevant activities and initiatives. This is clearly demonstrated by Wines of Argentina’s adhesion to the Sustainable Wine Roundtable, the UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles and the Global Network of Mendoza Pollinators (as well as a commitment to the Race to Zero campaign to reduce carbon emissions).

PRESTIGE

Argentine Wine has built up its reputation through consistency and reliability, especially in the premium segment. This record and the work of key opinion leaders have resulted in greater international recognition.

This can be seen in the high scores, medals and honors awarded to Argentine labels. The fact that specialized reports and guides are paying ever-greater attention to the Argentine Wine scene is proof of the country’s status as a world-class producer.
